| Oxford Flying Club | ||||||||
| Oxford Flying Club, formed in 1992, is a
nonprofit corporation dedicated to safe, affordable flying for its members.
We are based at Waterbury-Oxford Airport (OXC), a modern, well-managed state-owned
facility in Oxford, Connecticut. Thanks to a diverse, involved membership
the Club has become one of the most active aviation organizations in New England. Oxford Flying Club is a friendly group of about 35 individuals who share the joy of aviation. Each member contributes his or her talents to keep the Club and the Aircraft running smoothly. Members are known to fly together to share experience, cross train, and maintain currency. We offer aviation camaraderie, education and fun! |

| The Club owns two well maintained IFR capable Piper
PA-28-181 Cherokee Archer II Aircraft plus a recently purchased IFR
capable Cessna 172P Skyhawk. Archer N8261H is an especially beautiful
aircraft equipped
with GNS530 GPS/Nav/Com and WX-500 Storm Scope overlay, with new leather
interior and external paint. Booking rules are liberal including full day, four day and 12 day
bookings. Special exceptions are possible by membership approval |

| Flight Safety | ||||||||
| Oxford Flying Club maintains check ride and currency standards that are more stringent than required by the FAA. Flying members are required to pass annual Flight Checks and Instrument Proficiency Checks (if applicable) and must be signed off by a club approved instructor. Members must also attend several ground training seminars each year, either at Club meetings or as offered by local FSDO. To encourage safety through currency, flying members are charged a minimum of two hours flight time per month but may accumulate up to four hours without loss. | ||||||||
| Meetings and Activities | ||||||||
| Oxford Flying Club meets at a designated location near OXC at 7:00 pm on the third Tuesday of each month. Although Club Business and Safety Discussions are the official agenda at our meetings, a good deal of hangar flying has been known to occur. We also organize an annual Summer Picnic, Holiday Dinner, Safety Day and other recreational activities. Look here for pictures of our 2005 Spot Landing Contest and a news article on our 2004 Safety Day at Oxford Airport. | ||||||||
| Membership | ||||||||
